Please don't hit me at the next meeting for having the audacity to suggest this but - did you inadvertently have your finger in front of the lens? The light looks suspiciously finger shaped and the flash may have lit it up making it look like a light.

Thanks for the pics Jo. I think the one with the smoke, could be just smoke, someone smoking nearby.

Sorry but thats either smoke or breath. Its too close to the lens to be anything anomolous. If it was a few foot away it would be a different matter but something that looks like originates behind the lens can only be 1 of the above.

Thats just my opinion.

Thats fine Karinga, everyone has right to own opinion?

Thanks for taking time to post, I am interested what others think ?

I must say no one has commented on other sites about the possability of breath before, I dont recall breathing heavily when took the pic?
It wasnt cold as it was taken in Turkey at the hight of season..and I wasnt smoking?

How can you tell, how near exactly this is to the lense?

and Lastly can you not see at least 5 images within 'the smoke/breath' ?

What the lady previously suggested seems viable...

Arr Turkey!!, so maybe there where street food vendors around, outdoor food outlets, that could cause smoke, steam etc. As Turkey do have a lot of people in holiday resorts cooking outside, e.g Kebabs etc. Just another possibility jo.

Hi There

Thank you very much for sharing this with us.

I've take a good look at this photo and have come to the following conclusions....

1. The erratic nature of the substance in front of the camera would suggest that this is some form of vapor or powdery substance. Whether this is smoke or breath I cannot venture to guess as I was not present at the time of the photography.

2. There are several images in the photograph which I can clearly see, and these I picked up before you mentioned any of the things you can see. I can clearly make out the image of a rabbit in the middle of the photo perhaps.

I can also make out the scary hook nosed image of a witch to the right hand side top corner. I suppose all this proves however, is that it is easy to see images in the unusual abstract white forms.

3. In an attempt to clearly identify what this is to the best of our abilities, I would like to know the following...
- What Camera was this taken with - digital or 35mm
- Did anybody at the time feel anything unsusual?
- did you take any other pictures of the area and do they have any anomalties on them?
- What is the general atmospheric conditions of the area you were in when you took the photograph ? (was it humid, dry, cool)

These might help us to identify what caused the strange white image.

I this helps .

thanks

love and light Zoom

HI Zoom,

In answer to your comments ,

'There are several images in the photograph which I can clearly see, and these I picked up before you mentioned any of the things you can see. I can clearly make out the image of a rabbit in the middle of the photo perhaps.

Havent seen a rabbit but top left is a dogs face and neck, beadle type i think, I have singled out what I see and will post them too..

I can also make out the scary hook nosed image of a witch to the right hand side top corner.

Yes I no what you mean here, if you follow down the right edge of the pic half way down is a cloaked figure with black eyes and a large grin.
On the sidewalk I see a figure of a woman ..
Top Left is a boy type of figure.

3. In an attempt to clearly identify what this is to the best of our abilities, I would like to know the following...
- What Camera was this taken with - digital or 35mm Digital
- Did anybody at the time feel anything unsusual? No
- did you take any other pictures of the area and do they have any anomalties on them?
Yes but not in this perticular spot as we had just stopped for a rest but I have quite a few pics that capture orbs also..

The weather was humid but tollerable

I hope this helps

Hi Jo

Thanks for your speedy response.

Ok I think in this particular occasion we are looking at something that is mundane. Let me try to explain why I have come to this conclusion.

First of all the human mind is geared towards communication, order and symbolism. That is too say that our mind cannot accept the chaos abstractness of the smokey images in your photograph, so it looks for vague objects and wisps which resemble faces and images we know.

That is why we are seeing different things in the smoke.

Secondly, apart from the odd few, most ghosts caught on camera happen because the person at the time takes the photo in response to feelings that either themselves or others in the area are picking up.

Now there are photographs which have been taken which started out as being innocent shots of a building or a group photograph and has turned out to have ghostly images on them, but these have been on 35MM camera film and not Digital... which brings me onto my Third point and probably the most important.

Digital camera's are notorious for bringing up images such as these. You mention that the whether was humid and that you took other photo's with the same strange effect but in different areas. In truth this sounds like Pressure condensation internally on the camera's workings.

You have to remember that unlike a 35mm camera your digital camera does not actually show you what you pointed your camera at and took a photo off. It opens a shutter and allows light to hit a special digital sensor with so many millions of pixels on it (hence the term mega pixel), The sensor turns the light into millions of 1 and 0's which the camera's internal computer then translate into colours and shades which then produces your photograph.

Unfortunately, due to problems like pressure, flash reflection, light reflection there are quite often occasions where that software does not translate correctly what has been picked up on the sensor or the sensor might misread what has been shown and you end up with the wispy smoke like images you have in your photograph.

I hope this helps explain what they are Jo.... and I can understand any frustration you get from this. I myself have been taking photo's of haunted places for over 3 years with a Old School 35mm SLR camera and have over 300 photo's, all with no ghostly images on Sad

Still we continue to try.

Love and Light
